Production: The tea compose of unopened buds and young leaves which are hand-picked, withered and dried naturally.
Characteristics: Unfermented white tea a produces a pale yellow infusion with a smooth and soothing taste.
Health Benefits: It is rich in polyphenol antioxidants - catechins. Catechins help to protect body cells and tissues against oxidative damages caused by free radicals in the environment. They also aid in lowering low-density lipoprotein and total cholesterol levels in the blood. White tea is also well-know for its effect of cooling away abnormal body heat, accumulation of which in our body may cause sickness.
a. Hot Tea: Add 2 teaspoonfuls of tea leaves into a pre-warmed cup or teapot. Rinse tea leaves with boiling water and discard the water immediately. Pour in 200-220ml of 70-80°C(160-175°F) water and steep for 2-3minutes.
b. Ice Tea: Follow the instruction of making hot tea but pour in 70-80ml of 70-80°C (160-175°F) water and steep for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the tea to another cup and put enough ice to make a cup of delicious ice tea. Add honey or syrup if desired.
